Day 2- Paint and Fun!

Beginning with the end in mind, this is what Carl and his team's hard work yielded for the computer room. A vast difference from earlier photos huh? This will be one killer community center that touches many people!

Our hosts were wonderful in keeping us nourished and having fun cross cultural conversations, thanks Simone for being our #1 interpreter!

Nice photo...

One team put in a new concrete floor in the kitchen and surrounding room and hallway to prepare for the tile.

There was a friendly Brazil v. USA football game with the local kids, as you can imagine we got schooled!

Yellow card!

The boys after a muddy game.

Hardest job of the day, shoveling construction debris for removal.

Snacks with the ladies. Phil's looking right at home with the carrot cake.

David, making it happen with some ceiling paint.

Jessica detailing the light fixtures in the computer room, this room will get a new tile floor tomorrow and some new computers on Monday.

Sally getting some help cleaning the paint stuff. Feel the love!

The local girls were a big help painting the classroom and playing hide and seek with the team! They walked around with our kids and explained Portuguese and English to each other as they pointed at each item, what fun!

It's the GOLDEN HAMSTER, look out!

Some of the girls having fun with crafts.

Alex filling in the concrete in the kitchen floor, keep it up!

Leslie, you missed a spot.

Hey Harrison's,
Jessica is still painting, and Nick and ALex are still playing around.Where could Scott be? Insert smile here. Keep up the great work! Blake called today from NOLA, he is on mission there. Hanging roofing tile and drywall, just about the same as you all. He wanted me to let you know he will add your mission to their prayers. They are headed to Stuberville, GA after that.
The girls love checking out the site and tell me daily that we should call you.
No school for us in the beginning of Aug, perhaps we can sneak a road trip in.
In God's eyes, you are all making a huge difference. Prayers for your entire team.

Hey all - looks like a lot of hard work, but also a lot of fun. Maybe people here are asking about you and yes, there were many concerned hearts when they heard of the tragic plane crash. I'm sure the people whose lives are being touched will be ever grateful for what you are do as will your lives be ever touched by them. I will continue to keep you in my daily prayers. Take good care of that one little gal name "Sal," she's pretty special. God bless and thanks for all you are doing on our behalf. Pastor Glick

Dear Scott, you, your family and fellow congregants are an inspiration to all of us at SET. We admire you for your action and dedication to making a difference. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. It will make us all better to see what can be done if you set your mind to it and put your heart into doing God's work. Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
Janet
